Matt Jacob

Matt Jacob manages CDHP’s communications, including the website, social media and press relations. He also advises federal and state health officials on communications strategies to strengthen oral health.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Jacob has helped nonprofits and advocates raise the profile of their issues, particularly in the areas of children’s health and education. Before joining CDHP, he worked for the Pew Center on the States, where he managed communications for its children’s dental initiative. During his years at Pew, Mr. Jacob supported successful efforts by local dentists, parents and others to preserve or expand access to fluoridated water for more than 3.2 million Americans.

Mr. Jacob has led efforts to secure media coverage about CDHP’s priorities, including stories that have been published or aired by the New York Times, Fox News, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, National Public Radio and Huffington Post. He has made presentations on the framing of oral health messages to many organizations, including the Institute of Medicine and the American Public Health Association. In 2015, the National Public Health Information Coalition presented CDHP with three awards for newspaper columns it wrote on oral health issues. Mr. Jacob received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas.
