Matt Jacob manages CDHP’s communications, including the website and press relations. He also oversees an ongoing project using focus groups to assess the most effective oral health messages for policymakers. For more than 20 years, Mr. Jacob has helped nonprofits and advocates raise the profile of their issues, particularly in the areas of children’s health and education. Before joining CDHP, he worked for the Pew Center on the States, where he managed communications for its children’s dental initiative.
Mr. Jacob has led efforts to secure media coverage about CDHP’s priorities, including stories that have been published or aired by the New York Times, CNN, Fox News, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and National Public Radio. He has made presentations on the framing of oral health messages to many organizations, including the Institute of Medicine and the American Public Health Association.
Mr. Jacob has co-written or reviewed articles for Pediatrics, Annals of Epidemiology and the Canadian Journal of Public Health. In 2014, he was named a Health Literacy Hero by HealthLiteracyMonth.org. He received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas.
