The State Oral Health Plan Comparison Tool

Updated June 2011

The State Oral Health Plan Comparison Tool was originally developed in 2005-06 to provide an overview of the current state of state oral health plans and to facilitate cross-state comparisons. Over the past four years, states funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) State-Based Oral Disease Prevention Program and other states have updated or created new plans. The Comparison Tool captures the most recent information through June 2011.

How to Use the Tool

The State Oral Health Plan Comparison Tool is a relational database with the latest information on state oral health plans. Navigating information for each state is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. The home page of the Comparison Tool is an overview matrix of the state plans composed of 22 distinct content areas, which allows for simple evaluations and easy interstate comparisons.
  2. Each check mark within the Comparison Tool is an active link which, when clicked, will take the user to the exact language from the current state plan that corresponds to a given content area.
  3. Original state oral health plans can also be accessed via a web link in the “Links” tab so changes over time in individual states can be explored.
